Recycling/Transfer Stations
Keep Coromandel Beautiful - there are
24hr recycling drop-off facilities available
at our district's transfer stations if you
have lots of recyclables. You can also drop
off your rubbish bags here if your departure
does not coincide with council collection
dates. There is also a kerbside recycling
collection carried out on the same day as
your refuse collection. We accept the
following:
- Each property is entitled to a
recycling crate
- Aluminium and tin/steel cans,
including food cans, alcohol and soft
drink cans
Sorry, we cannot take aluminium foil,
plates or trays, or paint cans
- All domestic plastic from the
kitchen, bathroom and laundry numbered 1
to 7. Sorry we can't take other grades
of plastic such as nappies, cling film
or oil containers. Please remove lids,
clean and wash the bottles before
placing them in the crate.
- Green, brown, clear bottles and
jars. Broken glass should be well
wrapped and placed into your normal
rubbish bag. Sorry we cannot take window
glass.
- Paper and cardboard. Please fold
down to A3 size and tie in bundles or
grocery bags next to your recycling
crate. Sorry, we cannot take paper or
cardboard it if is waxed or plastic
coated
- Full colour circulars, newspapers,
magazines, window envelopes, and brown
corrugated cardboard

grocery bags next to your recycling
crate
Rubbish Collection - Thames Coast,
Thames, Matatoki/Omahu collection is
Wednesdays
- Only official Council rubbish bags
will be collected. If you do not use the
official Council rubbish bags, then your
rubbish will not be collected
- Bags are available from normal
retail outlets selling rubbish bags
- Council's collection service is for
domestic refuse only. Businesses should
make their own arrangements for
commercial/trade waste
- Each property is entitled to a
recycling crate
- Your rubbish bags should be at the
kerbside by 7.30am on the collection day
- Each bag should not be heavier than
15kg

alter over Christmas/New Year and public
holidays - please check your local paper for
details. Not all rural roads are
